Authorities nabbed Provincial Guard 1 Rey Mulawan who is assigned in Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail at his residence at Habitat relocation site, in Calaanan, Canitoan, this city.

Bulua police station chief police Captain Jason Santo Domingo said Mulawan even threatened his neighbors.

Santo Domingo said he received a call at around 10 pm from the area informing him about somebody was firing a gun.

Responding policemen went to the area and arrested Mulawan. However, there was no firearm recovered from the possession of Mulawan.

Santo Domingo claimed Mulawan was drunk when he confronted him at his office.

Complainant Kevin Buslon, Mulawan’s neighbor, told police he was with his father outside their residence when suddenly the suspect arrived and aimed his gun towards them and then fired it on the air.

Santo Domingo said Mulawan denied the allegation.

Meanwhile, MOPJ assistant warden Marycris Mulat admitted Mulawan is a regular employee at the jail and assigned as escort guard.

She said she will conduct a separate investigation against Mulawan so he would be given due process.

According to Mulat, if they find Mulawan guilty after their administrative investigation, they would recommend to Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano to sanction Mulawan.

Mulawan is temporarily detained at Bulua police station pending formal filing of charges against him.
