HINDI po sa lahat ng panahon, ang pulis ang solusyon. With the support and collaboration (with) other agencies, we’ll be able to deliver and accomplish what is expected from us.”

This was expressed by the newly-installed City Police Director of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office as he appeared, on Monday’s regular session.

Police Col. Henry Dampal formally assumed his new assignment on July 3. In a span of two weeks, he was able to roam around the city and found it necessary for the police force to adopt the basic approach of bringing the police closer to the community.

“By doing this, daghan ang atong mahimo like getting information and we will win the trust of the community,” he said.

He also directed every police station to place its “help desk” right in front of their station to ensure that all people who will come to the station will be accommodated, facilitated and their needs especially on public safety will be addressed.

No vehicles should stay in their station unless for some important reason. The police personnel was also encouraged to strengthen their relationship with the community especially with the barangays since they have the resources, he said.  (sp)
