Joint efforts by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-Armm), Wao Municipal Police, and 34th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army have arrested an armed group during buy-bust operation in Lanao del Sur last Friday.

Director Juvenal Blanquera Azurin together with PDEA-11 identified the suspects as Amrodin Alan Bantog alias Amroden Skak Bantog alias. Said Macarampat Gandawali alias Amroden Iskak Bantog alias Datu is one and the same person.

Azurin in a press statement said the suspect is considered as a High Value Target for being the member of a local armed group. He is 34 years old, male, married, and a resident of Barangay Bumiga, Malabang, Lanao Del Sur.

“In an intensified effort of the Narcotic Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency- Armm took another leap after an arrest of another armed group member and seized 1,000 grams of suspected shabu during during Buy-Bust operation at Purok 4, Brgy Easter, Wao, LDS adjacent to Western Pilot Elementary School,” he said.

Seized during the sting operation were one blue ecobag containing 10 pieces knot tied transparent plastic cellophane each containing suspected shabu.

Azurin said the 1,000 grams value of P6,800,000, one piece black paper bag containing the supposed payment of P1,700,000 consisting of one piece genuine P1,000 bill placed on top most bundle of 17 bundles of “boodle” money P1,000 bill and assorted ID‘s bearing different names having one identical picture of the suspect.

Cases for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 is being readied for filling against the suspect while he is now under the temporary custody of PDEA-Armm custodial facility.
