In the midst of the observance of the safety and accident prevention month, the 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army reminds the parents and families of Regions 10 and Caraga to protect their homes against CPP-NPA terrorists continued deception, lies, and recruitment.

It can be recalled that the month of November is devoted for the safety and accident prevention month of the Filipino homes by virtue of proclamation number 115-A signed by former President Ferdinand Marcos on Nov. 17, 1966.

Roselle Dagante alias Wella, 22, a former rebel from Surigao del Norte who surrendered on June 20 to the 30th Infantry Battalion, revealed that her family was ruined, she was not able to take good care of her five-year-old daughter and two-year-old son.

“As a mother, I want to provide the needs of my children and ensure their bright future which I cannot give because I need to hide and was forced to live in the mountains. “I really regret joining the NPA, my family suffered a lot and I want to change all of this, enough of this suffering so I decided to surrender,” Dagante said.

Major Gen. Franco Nemesio Gacal, the commander of the 4ID said, “The family is the basic unit of the society and it must be protected against all kinds of hazards including the CNTs wrong ideology and deceptive recruitment which aims to destroy our families. The future of every  Filipino family is an essential part of achieving peace and development and they are the very reason why we need to fight to end insurgency which had been persistently destroying our homes for 50 years.”

“I call on to the peace-loving Filipino people, let us protect our families and homes against CNT intrusions, we should not allow them to destroy our families and our society,” Gacal added. (4id)
