COUNCILORS Joyleen Mercedes Balaba and Jocelyn Rodriguez expressed their support to the project of the Department of Labor and Employment for the National Skills Registry Program (NSRP).
This, after the City Council committee on labor and employment chaired by Balaba tackled the proposed Memorandum of Understanding between the city government and Dole for the said program.
The labor department initiated the NSRP through the establishment of the Peso Employment Information System, with the main objective of improving facilitation services and providing up-to-date labor market information.
The PEIS has the capacity to regularly track the employment status of the registrants enrolled in the system and capture vital information such as vacancies and client transactions aside from the profiles and skills of jobseekers. (sp)
