A truck helper who had just finished relieving himself beside the road died after he was sideswiped by a passenger bus at Upper Puerto this city.
Police Corporal Eldinilo Lumantas, Puerto Police Station investigator, identified the victim as Edgar Davison, 24, a resident of Barangay Balubal, here.
Davison, Lumantas said, worked as a helper of a wing van.
Bus driver Francis Tevez, a resident of Tamparac, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental, is temporarily detained
Police said the victim was having bowel problems last Wednesday thus the reason the latter rushed to the other side grassy area of the road to relieve himself.
“Pero sa dihang nahuman na siya midali na pud siyag balik og tabok apan usa ka bus sa RTMI nga kusog kaayo hag-as lang mitunga ug mibangg kaniya,” Lumantas said.
Tevez, told police he was in a minimum speed when suddenly the victim crossed the road. He said he tried not to hit him but it was too late.
All the expenses are being shouldered by the bus company.
