CITY hall has been using a seal for many years that is not recognized by the National Historical Commission.

Councilor Lourdes Darimbang said this even as she expressed concern over the legal complic-ations of city hall’s use of an unregistered seal.

She showed a letter sent by National Historical Commission chairperson Ma. Serena Diokno that called the attention of Mayor Oscar Moreno. Diokno asked Moreno to register the city government’s seal with the Commission.

Darimbang said Diokno’s letter should be taken seriously given that the seal is on important local government documents.

“I am of the belief that the continued use of this unregistered seal could be detrimental to all city hall transactions and communications by its officials and personnel,” Darimbang said.

Vice Mayor Caesar Ian Acenas brushed aside Darimbang’s apprehension and said all that Moreno has to do is to register city hall’s official seal which the local government has been using for some 15 years already.
