“ANG atong damgo sa mga kabataan nga mahimo sila nga maayong future leaders, busa ayuhon nato sila pag-atiman.”
This was the message of Councilor Edna Dahino, chair of City Council committee on women and family relations, during the opening program of Children’s Month with the theme, Isulong: Tamang Pag-aaruga sa Lahat ng Bata.”
The activity, which was initiated by the City Council for the Protection of Children, was held at the City Hall quadrangle and attended by elementary and high school students with their respective teachers and moderators.
The councilor reminded all teachers and parents of their tasks as role models to the youth.
“Unsa may atong ihatag kung walay ato mga teachers? We are the models sa atong mga eskwelahan, mga ginika-nan kita ang ehemplo sa atong mga anak,” Dahino pointed out.
Dahino also strongly called on parents and teachers to be partners of the city government in developing the skills of the youth. (sp)
