Engr. Aly Khan U. Ali, officer-in-charge, DPWH, Lanao del Norte, 2nd Engineering District is referring to the area at Del Carmen which is the subject of concern by the city government as it would ease the traffic woes that is experienced by the city due to some of their repairs in several central areas of the city. He did not elaborate.

Earlier over the weekend, the engineer said he would send a request to the court to take out the barricade at Del Carmen, even if only temporarily so as to ease the traffic problems of the city.

To recall, in an order dated June 6, Judge Leonor Briones issued an order saying that “unless and until the road construction and repairs are completed, no public utility buses shall be allowed to use the C-3 diversion road in order to secure and guarantee public safety.”

This is, after the court conducted an ocular inspection in the area.

The road is also under expropriation proceedings, it was learned.
