This was disclosed by P/Lt. Colonel Surki Sereñas, Camp Alagar spokesman adding that extensive sets of training are given for their personnel to gain skills and imbue with them the values of commitment and dedication to service.

“We admit nga mi-abot ang panahon sa milabay nga mga katuigan nga ang PNP walay sistema. Karon dili na basta-basta kay kung kinsa ang right person mao na gyud ang ana-a sa puwesto,” he added.

He claimed that professionalization study to PNP is now being imposed to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the PNP and its impact on the PNP mission statement.

Karon when it comes to work dili na nimo ma-basta-basta. Kung nay murder case sa imong area dili na pwede kalimtan lang ang solusyon. Naa na kita’y enhanced management operation nga dili pasagdan kung walay solution,” he pointed out.

Sereñas said Police Commissioned Officers and Police Non-Commissioned Officers, both indicated well organized, strong, dedicated and committed professional PNP personnel, while there were still graft and corruption, inadequate facilities, coordinative mechanism among law enforcement agencies, and internalization of the mission statement, and political interventions.

He said any misleading and inappropriate function of the police officer will now reflect on its performance rating.

A PNP study claimed that the following were threats of the PNP: political interventions, harassment charges, narcotics abuse, and trafficking, and misleading media. Results showed that there are still opportunities to improve the legal system and opportunities to change police career due to good experience and exposure.
