The Land Registration Authority (LRA) has encouraged landowners to have their land titles “digitalized” for easier processing of their documents.

Amelia Respicio-Samarita, records officer 2 of Registry of Deeds, said digitalized titles would allow landowners to have their documents “accessible, electronically-preserved, and backed-up securely for future reference.”

Requesting for Certified True Copy of digitalized titles would be faster, and landowners could also now request for it through any Registry of Deeds, she added.

Landowners could still process the digitization of their land titles until the September 30 deadline by the LRA. According to LRA, the deadline would complete the digitization of all manually issued Certificates of Title in the agency’s database records.

In Davao City alone, close to 500 thousand manually issued titles are yet to be converted to electronic-titles (e-titles).

Landowners may pay more or less P700 for their titles to be converted. (davaotoday.com)
