Vera Cruz then told media that he was glad Salazar consented to be such as the city really needs “an in house lawyer” who could be present and consulted upon any time. He said that the city government has several “ticklish” issues that needs the immediate presence and opinion of the law so that they will be guided immediately. This is needed especially during their sessions, committee hearings and other forums, he added.

City councilor Demosthenes Plando, himself a lawyer said that even if the city council has two lawyers, it is necessary that there should be another lawyer from which an opinion can be had immediately on some issues.

To note, the lawyers that Plando talked about are himself, and newly reelected Providencio Abragan, Jr.
