The motorcade, passed through the main thoroughfares of the city, led to a showcase of various modern PUV- compliant units followed by a program with presentations by representatives from key national government agency-partners such as the Department of Transportation, Office of Transportation Cooperatives, Land Transportation Office, Land Bank of the Philippines, and Development Bank of the Philipines, highlighting the significant parts of the program like consolidation of franchises, fleet management, subsidy and loans.

The PUVMP is the flagship, non-infrastructure project of the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte with the goal of providing a comfortable life for all Filipinos through safe, reliable, convenient, affordable and environmentally-sustainable public transportation system in the country.

On Sept. 17, the PUVMP Caravan was successfully showcased in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur where some 700 transport cooperative members from various parts of Region 9 attended the successful event.

From Cagayan de Oro, the caravan will move to Valencia City in Bukidnon on Sept. 24. (ltfrb x)
