Citing his documents on hand, Quijano said the hearings were conducted on June 11 and June 22, this year. For the first hearing, he said, there were 95 attendees and for the second hearing, there were 89.

Earlier, Quijano slammed the city council here after finding out that it spent P30 million for “Committee Services” out of its P70 million budget for the year.

“How can a senior citizen eat that much,” Quijano asked, “even an ordinary person cannot eat that much.”

He said the city’s total budget for this year is P2 billion, adding that when mayor Celso Regencia said that it is only P1 billion and P930 million. He said he was “just rounding the figure off.”

Quijano also added that in another occasion, another committee hearing of the city council was held and it incurred P160,000 for meals with P400 per attendee.

This time, among the menu, was “beef brisket and sotanghon,” Quijano cited his documents.

Earlier, Quijano pointed out that the budget for “Committee Services” soared from P15 million last year to P70 million this year.
