Iligan City — Visibly furious over “illegal terminal” operators in a mall at Barangay Poblacion, this city, Mayor Celso Regencia has challenged them to a fist fight if only to get rid of them.

He added that he will “pour some gasoline into their vehicles,” if they will not stop their illegal practice. He said he will do it if he sees them still operating the terminal the next time he makes some inspections in the area.

He said that if they are abusing then he himself will commit some abuses if needed, using his power as mayor. He made the declaration during his inspection at the area along with members of the City Parking and Management Group.

To note, the area near the old Gaisano at Barangay Poblacion is being used as terminals for those bound for Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur, with barkers shouting their destinations to entice those who are bound for the said places.

The city is grappling with traffic problems which has worsened by the civil works of the Department of Public Works  and Highways along the long stretches of roads in the city’s major streets, even as part of the circumferential road at Del Carmen is also closed to buses as the owner of the land there, Uriel Borja , has put up a barricade to signify  that only light vehicles can pass through it.

An inspection at “illegal terminal” area over the weekend by this paper revealed that there is no longer a terminal for the two Lanaos.
