The activity, which was held at the City Hall Mini Park, showcased the various agricultural products of the residents of the 58 relocation sites in the city. These crops are mostly planted and grown right in the homes of the residents using plastic bottles, old shoes, helmets and other recyclable materials, The Power learned.

“Ang tumong ug tinguha ani nga programa nga ang mga katawhan sa relocation sites makatuon sila og pananom ug dili na sila mamalit sa merkado kay naa na sa ilang tugkaran ang ilahang kan-on,” Pascual stressed.

The project will not only lessen the expenses of the family on foods but will also promote the use of recyclable materials thereby reducing wastes that are harmful to the environment. It shall also give them livelihood as some of these products may also be sold in the market, the councilor further said.

With the onset of El Niño, Pascual considers the project as an effective tool and strategy to ensure food security for the family. (SP)
