In his letter-request addressed to the City Council, CDRRMD OIC Nick Jabagat explained that since there was no breakdown of the said items in the Annual Budget and the LDRRMF Investment Plan (Five-percent Calamity Fund) of the current year and considering the spate of occurrences of earthquakes, said items must be procured within this period.

These items are also necessary for the efficient and effective delivery of appropriate services needed by the general public and will be utilized by the office’ Urban Search and Rescue and Oro Computer-Aided Disaster Coordination Center on a 24/7 operations, he added.

The legislation was reviewed and endorsed by the committees on finance, budget and appropriations and on laws and rules respectively chaired by Councilors Edna Dahino and Ian Mark Nacaya. (sp)
