City councilor George Goking, chairman of the committee on trade and commerce, said he will propose to the city council a specified timeframe of the ban that will be implemented.

“I will go from twelve midnight to ten o’clock in the morning. During that time nobody should be seen drinking anywhere in the city much more along the street,” Goking said.

He said the President’s order is just very timely as a lot of problems among the youth stemming from drinking intoxicating liquors, not just illegal drugs.

However, he said, he should have to consider the woes of the business sectors who might also express their complaints about the ban.

Goking said, he has yet to meet members of the chamber of commerce especially the officers to get their opinions.

City councilor Jocelyn Rodriguez, for her part, said she is also in support of the order saying that it is one way to eliminate public unrest.

Maayo kaayo ni para sayo na makapauli sa balay ang mga bana ug maminusan pud ang away sa pamilya kay di man hubog ang lalaki,” Rodriguez said.

She said the barangay should be empowered through its barangay police who are the ones who will reprimand violators.

Rodriguez specifically mentioned the students whom she observed are still inside drinking joints even after midnight.
