Cagayan de Oro 2nd District public works and highways on Wednesday said the district already hired some 153 workers for its regular and routine road maintenance and flood control in Cagayan de Oro starting January this year.

2nd District Engr. Anastacio Marundan said, all district offices nationwide were directed by the national office to simultaneously launch the DPWH-led Job Creation Program of the government .

“This is also part of the government’s Build, Build, Build Program,” he said.

Marundan added it is the maintenance job on all national roads supervised by the Department of Public Works and Highways for the city.

As of May 2018, according to Marundan, the workers employed as part of their road map on jobs generation were also part of the million laborers that will be employed in various infrastructure projects in the country.

Meanwhile, Marundan also said the district has achieved a 19.35 percent accomplishment rate, higher by 1.84 percent from the revised target set in the implementation of projects funded under its 2017 infrastructure program as of May 2018.

He said the district was allotted by 1,159,620,353.10 in 2017 with 69 numbers of projects.

Of the 69 projects, 40 are already completed and 29 are ongoing.
