TO ensure public safety during the month-long city fiesta celebration, a series of coordination meetings were already been undertaken by different groups. However, the over-all peace and security can never be attained without the support and cooperation of the people of Cagayan de Oro.

This was stressed by Councilor Jay Pascual during the radio program “Si Vice Mayor Kikang Uy ug Ang Konseho” which was aired late last week.

“Ang Task Force Oro, Cocpo, RTA and CDRRMD ready na kaayo sila for the fiesta activities. Nag coordination meeting na sila para safe ang CdeO during sa fiesta celebration. Hopefully, moapil pud ang mga tawo pag safeguard, not only mga police, army, dili ta magsaligPwede pud ta magtan-aw tan-aw sa security measures sa atong dakbayan,” Pascual pointed out.

The councilor is reminding everyone not to bring backpacks and not to wear sunglasses  during public events like parades, processions or the like as these are part of the security measures being implemented by the authorities.

Pascual apologized for the possible inconvenience that may be experienced by Kagay-anons, specifically with the “no internet connecton/signal policy,” which could last for about two hours.

“Anyway, it’s only once a year, so let’s just cooperate para hapsay atong celebration,” Pascual said.

Higalaay Festival is the annual fiesta celebration of the city commemorating the feast day of St. Augustine, its patron saint. (sp)
