BUTUAN City — A suspected drug pusher who “surrendered” to police was killed in a police shootout during buy bust operation in Barangay Obrero this city on Saturday, report from Police Regional Office 13 reads.

Barangay Obrero has been known by authorities as the city’s “shabu tiangge.”

Chief Supt. Rolando Felix, Police Regional Office 13 director identified the slain suspect as Daniel ‘Lapad’ Esguerra.

Police were about to arrest Esguerra, who received the marked money from a poseur buyer, when the tragic incident took place according Felix.

Esguerra was hit in his chest after the police fought back according to the report of BCPO.

Recovered from the suspect were two big sachets of suspected shabu weighing 10 grams with estimated value of P118 thousand, and a caliber .38 revolver.
