Barangay Nazareth chairman Maximo Rodriguez III has filed two criminal cases before the City Prosecutor’s Office and contempt of court at the Municipal Trial Circuit Court-Branch 7 on Monday against officers and legal counsel of Nazareth Lawn Tennis Club (NLTC).

Charged before the City Prosecutor’s Office were Vincent John Elago, Charles Mejia, and Atty. Tiburcio Palasan for grave threats, grave oral defamation, and violation of Barangay Resolution Number 001-2010 chapter 6 section 11 in relation to City Ordinance Number 5133-95 section 3 dated Nov. 27, 1995 with docket number 19G-1683.

While a separate case was charged against Charles Mejia, Atty. Carl Eclevia, and several John Does for malicious mischief with docket number 19-1682.

Rodriguez also filed a separate case of contempt of court against Mejia and Eclevia.

“Elago shouted, Maayo mo pamatyon. Maayo mo pamunalan ug kahoy. While Palasan also uttered, Walay hinungdan nga barangay captain, Wala gamita ang utok and Mejia lashed words by saying: Mga yawa mo, mga bogok. These utterances caused much shame and fear to my very person being a barangay chairman. The incident was reported to the nearest police station for blotter purposes,” he said on his complaint sheet.

Mejia and Eclevia were charged for malicious mischief after they ordered the destruction of the padlocks of the gates.
