AT least six public utility vehicle drivers here tested positive for illegal drugs use after the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Land Transportation Office, and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board launched “Oplan Harabas,” a surprise drug test over the weekend.

PDEA-10 Regional Director Wilkins Villanueva said they tested some 146 public utility drivers, which includes 54 truck drivers, 19 jeepney drivers, 12 taxi drivers, 15 van drivers, 38 motorela drivers, and eight multicab drivers.

Villanueva said six of the 146 drivers tested positive for using shabu who were comprised of three truck drivers, and three motorela drivers.

He said all six drivers will be enrolled to PDEA’s intervention program.

The drivers who tested positive for drug use were not apprehended but were advised to stop driving public utility vehicles until they finish the rehabilitation program of PDEA-10.
