Julieto Concepcion told reporters that the victims were his younger brother Rio, 37, married, and his son, Mark, 22,  single, both residents of Barangay Tambacan, this city.

The two had just attended a vigil of a neighbor in their barangay, near their homes. While there, they played card games with bets on them.In the process, Julieto Concepcion said his brother had an altercation with another player which he said was not identified, as of press time.

The two had already gone home but decided to go back to the vigil to do more gambling with the card games known locally as “piyat-piyat.” Thereafter several steps away from their house, a duo riding a motorcycle shot at them. Concepcion said his brother Rio died instantly while his son, Mark, was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the emergency room doctor.

It was learned that victim Rio had been in and out of prisons. But the older brother Julieto said the motive could have been the altercation with a fellow gambler at the said vigil.

Rio succumbed to a hit on the head once while the young Mark was hit three times to several parts of his body, it was learned.
