COUNCILOR Suzette Magtajas-Daba, chair of the committee on education is pushing for an ordinance that will help senior high students in choosing a career.

Named as Career Guidance Ordinance of Cagayan de Oro City, the ordinance would be the local version of Section 9 of the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 that aims to guide students in choosing career tracks.

Magtajas-Daba is eyeing the cooperation of the Department of Education, Department of Labor and Employment, Technical Education Skills Development Authority, and the Commission on Higher Education. She said these are the agencies that are usually conduct career advocacy activities to senior high students.

Magtajas-Daba is set to met tomorrow with Peso Manager Katleen Kate Sorilla, DOLE-10 Director Joffrey Suyao, City Administrator Teodoro Sabuga-a, Jr., Schools Division Supt. Cherry Mae Limbaco, Ched-10 Director Raul Alvarez, Jr, Tesda-10 Director Tarhata Mapandi, City Improvement Division In-Charge Marissa Tagarda to gather their opinion on her proposed ordinance. (sp)
