“Our initial custodial debriefing found out that they were frustrated with the NPAs who continuously threatened their communities in Rogongon, a hinterland barangay in Iligan City,” said Lt. Col. Jasper Edward Obar, 51st Infantry Battalion commander.

The three also yielded one M1 Garrand rifle, one shotgun, one caliber. 22 rifle, one hand grenade, magazines, and ammunition.

“The influx of NPA and militia surrenders in Iligan City is a testament of their desire to unite and live peacefully with their families. We expect that more NPAs and militias will return to the folds of the law in the coming days,” said Brig. Gen. Ezra James Enriquez, 2nd Mechanized Brigade Commander.
