A 20-year-old college student died after she was accidentally run over by a trailer truck Monday morning.
Camela Jacobo, a resident of Montalvan-Burgos, this city was rushed to the Northern Mindanao Medical Center where she was declared dead.
The incident happened along Mendoza-Julio Pacana streets in Puntod at around 9:30 am.
The driver, identified as Joaquin Jacala of Barangay Dansolihon, surrendered to the police at the Macabalan police station.
He said he did not notice the victim crossing the road. He suspected she might have stood on top of the stockpile along the road, slipped and fell forward to the passing truck.
Jacobo was a graduating college student at COC-Phinma and an on-the-job trainee in one of the offices in the area.
She was supposed to report to her office when the incident happened.
