BUTUAN City — After an earthquake hit Caraga region on Sunday evening, another tremor jolted people here yesterday morning.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported in its monitor that a 4.8 magnitude earthquake rocked the mining areas of Balang-ballang in del Pilar, Cabadbaran City on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvolcs) said the tremor on Sunday registered a 4.4 magnitude in the richter scale hit the mining town of Tubay, Agusan del Norte at about 6:39 pm.

The tremor was felt in Surigao city at Intensity 4 and here at Intensity 3.

Four days ago, an earthquake with a magnitude 4.6 in richter scale jolted another Caraga Region town in Cortes, Surigao del Sur with a depth of 71 kilometers.
