It was a clean sweep in favor of Councilor Lim’s ticket, according to Gusa barangay chairman Marlo Tabac.

The councilor’s reelection means that he would continue representing the city’s 80 barangays in the city council.

Yan Lam, more known as Alam, bagged 46 of the 80 votes. The difference: 12 votes. His rival had 34 votes.

Emerging from the closed door Liga elections held at a function room of Grand Caprice, a victorious Alam Lim thanked Mayor Oscar Moreno, Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy,  Rep. Rolando Uy of the city’s 1st District, his fellow city councilors, and all the barangay officials who supported his reelection bid.

He also promised to continue serving as the advocate of barangay causes in the city council and in pursuing the development of the villages.

Conrad Lim hurriedly left Grand Caprice after his defeat. He said no word and avoided reporters who were after his statement.

Conrad’s supporter, barangay chairman Pedro Balite of Kauswagan, lost in the Liga’s vice presidential race. Balite is a former president of the association and he briefly served as a city councilor.

The second highest Liga post was won, 45-35, by barangay chairman Marlo Tabac of Gusa.

Elected auditor was Kim Clark Yap of Barangay 4 who won with 72 votes.

The newly elected directors of the association have yet to choose their secretary and treasurer from among themselves.

The new set of directors include barangay chairpersons Apolinar Bonete of Barangay 29, Maricor Calizo of Patag, Andrew Melliza of Agusan, Maximo Allorin of Iponan, Billy Kid Auza of Tablon, Rexie Tinampay of Puntod, Alexander Torralba of Lumbia and Francisco Laihee of Barangay 14.

According to Tabac, all of the candidates in Conrad Lim’s ticket were defeated. They are barangay chairpersons Anthony Abejuela, Gilda Go, Maximo Rodriguez III, Eddie Abrogar, Erlquin Lim, Aaron Neri, Julieto Ogsimer and Allan Mabalacad.
