Security plans for fiesta activities set

Security preparations are now in placed for the city annual fiesta.

During the radio program, “Ang Konseho Karon,” Councilor Romeo V. Calizo, chair of the Council’s committee on police, fire and public safety, tackled the security preparations in-line with the upcoming Fiesta Celebration of the City on Aug. 28.

Being the chairman of the City Peace and Development Council, he likewise laid out some security plans for the annual fiesta event “kay syempre dili gayud kita gusto na mapihig ang atong katawhan sa pagsaulog sa atong kapistahan,” he said.

Some concerns and requirements were initially and eventually being addressed and complied to ensure that the security forces will be able to perform its tasks and duties, he said.

So far the mobility and communications equipment are all set-up even with our limited means, he added.

Councilor Calizo said Task Force Oro, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office and the City Information Office are presently disseminating information on the Dos and Don’ts that must be observed during the main events of the fiesta celebration.

Calizo stressed that for security and health reasons the participants are advised to refrain from wearing hats and shades and avoid the use of umbrella.

He further said they should not tag along their children during the said activity. (sp)
