TAGOLOAN, Misamis Oriental ― Aloma Beja Emano, mother of Misamis Oriental 2nd District Rep. Yevgeny Vincente ‘Bambi’ Emano, took center stage last Friday to celebrate her son’s 25 years in public service.

At the Tagoloan Dome, Aloma led the celebration with a speech saying how blessed she is to have a son like Bambi with his late father former Governor Vicente Emano.

“(Kung na) hibaloan pa lang (na) silang upat mga tarong, mag usa unta sila ka dosena karon,” she said in jest.

Her son celebrated his 25 years in public service on June 30. He served as Tagoloan mayor, 2nd district representative, provincial governor, and now back representing the province’s 2nd district in the Lower House of Congress.

For her part, Cagayan de Oro City Councilor Yvy B. Emano, Bambi’s sister, said he may not have surpassed their father’s feat yet but his leadership is truly unique.

Tagoloan Mayor Nadya Emano-Elipe gave his brother a token of appreciation emblazoned with the official seal of the municipality.

The celebration was dubbed “Bambi Serbisyo Biente Singko,” said former Libertad Mayor Alberto Acain in a phone interview.

Emano started his political career at the age of 23. He served as Tagoloan mayor from 1998 to 2007, then served as the province’s 2nd district representative for two terms, from 2007 to 2013.

He was then elected Misamis Oriental governor in 2013, 2016, and 2019. He is now serving the province as its 2nd district representative from 2022 to the present.
