Responding police investigators identified the female victim as Kimberly Quiam Pascua, a resident of Purok-B9, Tigatto in Barangay Buhangin, Davao City.

The suspect who also committed suicide after the stabbing incident was identified as Jerry Cordova, Jr. who shares the same address of the victim.

Upon sensing danger for her life, Pascua ran towards the hallway of the laundry shop, but Cordova outran and got hold of her, and stabbed the victim several times hitting different parts of the body.

The multiple stab wounds caused the instantaneous death of the victim.

In a sudden turn of events, instead of fleeing from the crime scene, Cordova found a leveling hose at the area, and tied it to his neck after tying the other end to the trusses of the hallway ceiling, the report said.

When the ambulance from the Cabantian Central 911 station and emergency responders arrived at the crime scene, they were both found dead.

Scene of the Crime Operatives led by Police Executive Master Sergeant Sherwin Valmores scoured the place of the incident and found the kitchen knife measuring at least six inches, and the eight-meter leveling hose used by the suspect to kill himself in an apparent suicide.

They were brought to a mortuary in Sitio Santo Niño, Barangay Mandug in Buhangin, Davao City for the required autopsy.
