MAYOR Rolando “Klarex” Uy’s administration is committed to building 400 classrooms before the end of his first term, as revealed by Sheila Lumbatan, the chief of staff of the city mayor’s office. 

Lumbatan disclosed the mayor’s vow during the groundbreaking ceremony for a 2-storey, 4-classroom building at Malasag Elementary School on Tuesday.

Lumbatan emphasized that Mayor Klarex expressed his satisfaction with the initiation of several classroom buildings within just over a year of his leadership. 

“This initiative aims to enhance accessibility for students and teachers in various public schools,” said Lumbatan.

Furthermore, the mayor underscored the ongoing efforts, in partnership with city hall departments, to gradually alleviate the shortage of classrooms. 

He stressed his dedication to addressing this issue for the benefit of educational institutions.

The groundbreaking ceremony was officiated by Mayor Klarex, in the presence of officials from the Department of Education Division of Cagayan de Oro, city hall representatives, City Councilor Suzette Magtajas-Daba, and members of the Local School Board.

Lumbatan highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating, “This partnership underscores the city’s commitment to enhancing educational facilities for the betterment of the community.”
