MAGUINDANAO– All police officers assigned in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) must possess good community relations skills, a ranking police official in the region said yesterday.

“All police officers, whether they are in the investigation section, intelligence or operations, must also act as police community relations (PCR) officers in the field,” Chief Supt. Ronald Estilles, police regional director for ARMM said.

“Every police officer should know how to interact and engage the community in order to generate an active support from them,” he said during the traditional flag raising ceremonies here Monday.

In the ARMM which comprised of the provinces of Maguindanao, Lanaodel Sur, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi, police officials lauded the support to all the external stakeholders who continuously support the programs of the PNP to ensure a peaceful and orderly community.

“The PRO-ARMM is hopeful that this partnership will continue to grow in the years to come,” he said.

To ensure the success of the PCR month, Estilles directed all police officers under him and the general public to join the activities for the 20th PCR Month and further encourages the public to continue in supporting the plans and programs of the PNP such as in providing reports on any unlawful activities through social media. pna
