This after murder victim public school teacher Vilma Cabactulan was laid to rest on Saturday at the Golden Heaven Memorial Park in Bulua after a five-day wake.

Officials of the Department of Education, colleagues and students from PN Roa Senior High School, and city mayor Oscar Moreno paid their respects.

According to Rosalio Vitorillo, City School Governance Division chief, the interment was emotional, especially among the colleagues of Cabactulan.

Vitorillo said Borcillo’s directive comes at the heels of at least 50 public school teachers of PN Roa Senior High School registered their concern and fear for their lives whenever they turn their backs on their students.

Cabactulan was stabbed by a 9th grader when the latter had her back from the students.

Vitorillo said the directive includes that all school principals of the city schools division coordinate closely with the police stations and barangay chairpersons in their respective areas and to request the latter for police or barangay tanod sentry at the schools’ gates to frisk students, guests, and teachers coming in.

Meanwhile, Dindo Cuevas, 9th grader teacher at PN Roa Senior High School said they fear for their safety after hearing that some of their students have a list of teachers they will kill.

Naa kami nadunggan nga dunay grupo sa mga estudyante dinhi nga nag-ingon nga naa sila’y listahan sa mga teacher nga ilang isunod ni teacher Vilma sa pagpatay,” Cuevas said.

Cuevas, however, did not elaborate the plan he heard but said the group calls themselves “Anti-Bagsak Teacher.”
