Another drug suspect was killed in a shootout with the Tagoloan Municipal Police Station (TMPS) during anti-drug operation campaign in Zone-3, Barangay Sihayon, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental Monday evening.

SPO4 Ritchie Raiz, TMPS investigator identified the suspect as Rolando Ipit alias Molong, 32-years old and a resident of the area.

Ipit was identified by the police authorities as ranked number 2 in the municipal level as a criminal element in Tagoloan and ranked number 9 in the provincial level. Ipil has just been released from jail in September for robbery.

Ipit sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest that led to his sudden death. Recovered from his possession was a .45 automatic pistol, five sachets of suspected shabu and the P500 bill marked money used during the buy-bust operation.

Scene of Crime Operatives (Soco) chief Dr. Christian Caballes confirmed that several evidences were taken from the possession of Ipit.

Caballes said two bullets hit the chest and exited at the back portion of the body of Ipit probably during the shootout with law enforcers.

Ipit’s wife, Jocelyn, confirmed that his husband had just been released from jail and dismissed reports that the latter engaged in illegal activities like selling of drugs in their locality.

She also dismissed police reports that his husband owned a pistol when he allegedly engaged the police in a shootout.

Meanwhile, a joint operation from personnel of Tagoloan Municipal Police Station under the direct supervision of Deputy OIC-P/Sr. Insp. Dante Hallazgo and personnel of Initao Municipal Police Station lead by P/Sr. Insp. Hugo Lacapag, SPO2 Nestor Cabanesas, SPO2 Jason Magno, and SPO2 Egbert Comendador arrested Joseph Mabanta De Azis, 48 years old,single, a native of Danao, Jasaan, Misamis Oriental following a warrant of arrest issued by the local court. De Azis was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest issued by Hon. Marissa Estabaya, RTC-Misamis Oriental Branch-44 docketed in criminal case number 2016-2976 for the crime of  murder with no bail-bond recommended.

The suspect was arrested at Anunang, drive, Poblacion, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
