Moreno hailed Magtajas’ efforts during the turn over ceremony of the P20-million city treatment and rehabilitation center on Tuesday in Sitio Maitom, Upper Puerto, this city.

The mayor beamed that the city’s new rehabilitation center is the second biggest governmentun drug rehabilitation center in Mindanao, second only to Bukidnon which was inaugurated by President Rodrigo Duterte, recently.

He said the contribution of Magtajas in the fight against drugs will never be forgotten. Moreno bared that it was Magtajas who asked the Rosales family to donate their 10-hectare lot in Sitio Maitom for the rehabilitation center.

Moreno also thanked the Rosales family for donating the land so that people addicted to illegal drugs could have a new lease in life through rehabilitation.

To honor the family, Moreno named the drug rehabilitation facility as “Madame Laureana S. Rosales building.”

The new drug rehabilitation center has a 100-bed capacity and will cater not only to the city’s drug dependents but also from other provinces across Mindanao.

Moreno said city hall is also going to spend P15 million for another drug rehabilitation center in Sitio Maitom which will cater only to women drug dependents and another P15 million to pave a concrete road from the national highway leading up to the city’s drug rehabilitation facilities.
