Iligan City — A man went missing after diving for an iron chain, Tuesday morning.

Rogelio Esconde, a resident of this city, yesterday said that his son, Dennis, 32, went diving along with several others to retrieve an iron chain underwater in the sea off Acmac. This was around 11:00 am,Tuesday, Rogelio said. His son Dennis was able to surface after diving, he said, but only for a short time but soon got submerged and did not surfaced again. He had an oxygen tank in his back, the father added. They are residents of Purok Rosas, of the said barangay, it was learned.

The elder Esconde said that he along with many people there waited but in vain. As of press time, they are still waiting for updates on the missing diver. He enjoined the people especially along the coastal areas to report if they see someone who is found floating even if it is already far from the area.

It was learned that a search and retrieval team have been organized to do the searching with its barangay chair, Juvelyn Claveria doing the facilitation.
