THERE is talk inside that office that lousy performance is being rewarded as long as may pinagsamahan tayo.

Employees of that office are often overheard talking behind the back of the supposed big shots. For example, there is an engineer who does nothing from start to end of office hours yet was reportedly recommended by the acting department head to be promoted to a higher engineer position. Is rewarding ineptness now the name of the game in that office?

Then there is that other one who was reportedly recommended for promotion despite his lack of knowledge of how to do administrative work. According to insiders, his only means of implementing administrative matters is by intimidating lower-ranking employees of that department.

The insiders also say that there are more deserving hard-working employees in that office who should be promoted but are left out because the department manager is playing favorites.

I have the gut feel Mayor Rolando Uy is not aware of what really is happening in that office. Those close to the mayor better let him know everything that’s going on. Otherwise, he will get the blame in the end. He should not wait until everything blows out of control.
