FACING the same foes who gave them a hard time in the elimination round, the all-solid Magsaysay softball girls had the flaws they needed to fix come to the national finals.

Playing under the banner of Paglaum Medina-MisOr, the Magsaysay female batters found some of their younger teammates having difficulty hitting the ball from rival pitchers which is crucial to sustaining a run.

Yet, it was compensated well by the dynamic plays of their pitcher, catcher, and first base athletes as Magsaysay blanked the supposedly tough Sarangani via 12-0 regulation in 16-under softball girls final on Friday’s culmination of the Little League Philippines Series 2024 Regional Tournament in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

Dakong improvement pa ang mahitabo sa ilang younger players, pero majority mga seasoned na kaayo timing ilang lihok ang pitcher mora’g lalake kusog ang labay sa bola,” observed Emman Chiu Pupos, son of the ever supportive Medina ABC president Emmanuel Pupos, last Friday’s championship game over at the watery yet grass-coated muddy pitch of the Malaybalay Provincial Capitol Grounds.

With their impressive performance, the Magsaysay female athletes composed of Christine Sososco, Jean Rose Tion, Shane Ballard, Claire Marie Carmelotes, Stephanie Maestrado, Cindy Dorado, Jessica Jane Megallen, Gerlyn Magatines, Begene Lebor, Elaisa Jean Babayson, Honey Jean Bueno, Natashia Nicole Mendoza and Jean Lee Tion with coaches and trainers Jackie Lou Aboc, Kristine Sasa, Leonardo Pon, and Ryan Ratilla can expect similar support to be provided by Governor Peter ‘Sr Pedro’ M. Unabia to the winning athletes from Medina, Salay, and Jasaan.

The national finals, staking international Asia Pacific Region slots to Korea, will be hosted by Tanauan, Batangas this coming April.
